Even if you didn’t have your very own Little Tikes Cozy Coupe car when you were little (don’t worry, neither did we), chances are pretty good that you still got to play in one, vrrroooomming around with the power of your own feet like Fred Flintstone. The real question is: now that you’re bigger and driving a grownup car is a more realistic option, do you still fancy a spin in a bright red Cozy Coupe?
An ambitious Briton named John Bitmead absolutely did, which is why he spent over 1000 hours and over £4,000 (about $6,500) building an awesome street-legal, adult-sized version of the iconic Little Tikes toy car. This one doesn’t require Flintstone footwork because it features a manual transmission and gas-powered engine that’s capable of reaching a top speed of 110km/h (70mph). Bitmead’s custom Cozy Coupe seats two adults and includes an airbag, seat belts, headlights and mirrors. He plans to use the vehicle to raise money for children’s charities.
